Guided by Purpose
Asbury Ridge is not a plan for what a community might become. It is a community that is already here. For years, neighbors, staff, and traditions have shaped a way of life rooted in East Tennessee, in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains.
Under HutsonWood’s not-for-profit stewardship, that work continues. A focus on the people who live here guides it, today and over time. That means thoughtful decisions, steady relationships, and a long-term commitment to the community we serve.
This is more than a place to live. It is a place where life is already unfolding.

A Renewed Name That Keeps What Matters
The community you know as Asbury Place Maryville is now Asbury Ridge, under HutsonWood stewardship. The name changed. The community, the people, and the daily life did not.
Continuity for residents and staff
The community has been known as Asbury Place Maryville for decades. Retaining Asbury in the name preserves what is familiar at the center of a transition that already requires real adjustment for the people who live and work here.
Honor for the heritage
Francis Asbury, the first Methodist bishop in America, is the source of the community’s identity. Keeping his name in the title acknowledges that this community did not begin with the change of ownership in 2025. It continues a tradition of service that has shaped this community for several decades.
A renewed identity that respects the past
Ridge is the differentiating element. It anchors the community in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and marks the move to HutsonWood stewardship. It also creates appropriate distance from the previous Asbury Place naming convention. The community is no longer Asbury Place Maryville. It is Asbury Ridge.

About the Mark
The Asbury Ridge wordmark carries its own visual identity rather than the HutsonWood heart-and-house mark. The line “A HutsonWood Community” appears beneath it, so the stewardship and the connection to HutsonWood stay clear. The mark reflects the ridge setting of the campus in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains.
